TUESDAY RUNDOWN: THE LOWDOWN ON BO, AND PLENTY MORE

It was another day of fun, sun and more great sports talk on Tuesday’s Episode #840 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV. Here’s the rundown!:

  • RP and Moose Dupont opened with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) A head-scratching move by rookie Denver coach Nathaniel Hackett led to a 17-16 Seahawks win on Monday Night Football, 2) What’s your Stanley Cup Final prediction? (Rod’s is Florida/Calgary while Darren’s is Colorado/Carolina), 3) The Blue Jays down Tampa 3-2 in a key MLB AL match-up while the Atlanta Braves fall 3-2 in San Fran, 4) The Week 15 CFL Power Rankings are 1-Winnipeg, 2-Calgary, 3-Toronto, 4-BC, 5-Sask, 6-Montreal, 7-Ottawa, 8-Edmonton and 9-Hamilton, 5) QB Cooper Rush takes the reins for the Dallas Cowboys, and 6) Other sports notes.
  • Calgary Stampeders voice Mark Stephen joined the show to discuss the Stampeders quarterbacking situation and Mark admitted that Bo Levi Mitchell is #2, and sometimes #3, on the depth chart. Rod and Mark examined all sides of the scenario and Stephen admitted it had to be an agonizing move for Calgary brass John Hufnagel and Dave Dickenson. However the team keeps winning with Jake Maier, so it’s hard to argue. The CFL trade deadline is October 5 but Mark doesn’t think Calgary will trade Bo Levi. Come season’s end, who knows what the future holds for the Hall of Famer?

  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Would you ever boo a legend from your favourite team (like Seahawks fans did to Russell Wilson Monday Night)? At press time over 70% of respondents said no.
  • Canadian Football Hall of Famer Nik Lewis joined the show to discuss all things CFL. He reflected on his induction into the CFHOF in June and previewed this weekend’s induction of the 2022 Class which includes Ricky Ray, Paul McCallum, Chip Cox and Roy Shivers. Regarding the Bo Levi Mitchell situation, Nik said it appears the sun is setting on Mitchell’s career but agrees with Mark Stephen, that a trade is unlikely. Nik and Rod examined the Week 15 CFL match-ups and then got into their beloved Dallas Cowboys. Lewis, a Dallas product, said the Cowboys offense stunk Sunday night even with Dak Prescott.
  • Monday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Derek Keenan. Tuesday’s was Nik Lewis!
