MONDAY RUNDOWN: OVERREACTIONS, FOOTBALL RECAP, MLB & MORE

We began our latest residency at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary on Monday with Episode #862 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – on Game+ TV and WQEE Radio! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off at the Stage Bar with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) What were the biggest overreactions out of the weekend? Is Tom Brady done? Are the Flames for real? Are the Riders dead?, 2) The best games in Week 6 of the NFL, 3) CFL Week 19 recap – Montreal 34-Ottawa 30, Hamilton 35-Calgary 32, Toronto 28-Edmonton 23, and B.C. 40-Winnipeg 32, 4) The Yankees and Guardians are going to a deciding Game 5 on Monday, 5) College Football and Canada West recap (an historic ending in Tennessee), and 6) The Canadian Premier League semifinals are halfway done.
  • Calgary Stampeders play-by-play man Mark Stephen dropped by the Grey Eagle to discuss all these topics, but particularly the Stamps’ heart-wrenching loss to the Ticats Friday night. Mark teed up the upcoming home-and-home series with the Roughriders and go into the Bo Levi Mitchell situation. Stephen explained that Bo being sat down never turned into a distraction because the Stamps got out front of it, and Mitchell deserves credit for not making a stink out of it. While Mark feels Bo Levi may play somewhere else next season, we shouldn’t rule out the possibility of him retiring.

  • In Hour 2 we were joined by Hockey Night In Canada icon Ron MacLean. He discussed the Battle of Alberta and Calgary’s 4-3 win at Edmonton Saturday night, previewed Tuesday’s Flames/Golden Knights clash, and answered several viewer questions.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which is the best 3-3 team in the NFC – Green Bay, Tampa Bay, LA Rams or San Francisco? At press time the Bucs were leading.
  • Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Lee Genier. Monday’s was Ron MacLean!
  • If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/11 pm MT on Game+ TV, on our YouTube Channel or at your favourite podcast platform.
  • See you at 12 pm ET on Tuesday on Game+ TV and WQEE 99.1 FM.
