TUESDAY RUNDOWN: JETS TALK, NHL TRADE FRENZY AND MORE

In what’s become the busiest week on the NHL calendar, we swarmed the ice with all the latest buzz on Episode #948 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and WQEE Radio! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked things off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Monday’s NHL leftovers including the Oilers home loss to Boston and the latest trades before Friday’s deadline, 2) The Blue Jays (1-2) get spanked 7-0 by the Braves in spring training, 3) The NFL’s Washington Commanders move on from QB Carson Wentz, 4) We kicked the NFL hornet’s nest on Monday with our comment from a former Raiders coach that QB Derek Carr is “uncoachable”, 5) On Tuesday night the Raptors host the Bulls and the Hawks welcome the Wizards, and 6) Dub Hub.
• Winnipeg Sports Talk host Hustler Paterson joined the show to preview the Kings & Jets and said Winnipeg is in full on panic mode with the Jets losing five of their last six games. Hustler would like to believe Rod that this is just a slump and not a trend, but the signs are worrisome. Hustler also gave the latest on the WHL’s Winnipeg ICE location controversy.
• Daily Faceoff writer Steven Ellis joined the show from Toronto to break down all the trades and explained that although Tampa Bay gave up lots for forward Tanner Jeannot, they have the draft capital to do it. Regarding the future of Connor Bedard with the NHL’s #1 pick this summer, Steven said he’d like to see him go to a Canadian market however failing that, the best fit for Bedard would be Anaheim.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which bubble team will make the playoffs in the NHL’s Eastern Conference – Buffalo, Detroit, Florida or Ottawa? At press time, the Sabres were leading.
• Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Jim Lang. Tuesday’s was Hustler!
