WEDNESDAY COMMENTARY: IF IT’S NOT BROKE …

Wednesdays are for random thoughts on this Commentary so let’s get to them:

#1 – The Blue Jays slogan for the playoffs is “Take October”. I’d ask, “Take it where?”

The MLB postseason is only a day old but Toronto already faces elimination today after falling 3-1 in the opener of their Best-of-3 Wild Card series at the Minnesota Twins.

Gosh it sucks to wait all day for a big game only to have it be a major letdown like Game 1 was.

Let’s see what Game 2 brings today.

#2 – This Connor Bedard story in Chicago is going to be a lot of fun to watch. “The Next One” notched a goal and two assists in the Blackhawks 4-2 win over Detroit Tuesday night.

Chicago swept the 3 Stars — Corey Perry was #1, Taylor Hall #2 and Bedard was #3.

Connor and Corey Perry are on a line together and assisted on each other’s goals.

Fun Fact: Corey Perry’s rookie season in the NHL was 2005-2006 with Anaheim; the very year Connor Bedard was born.

And #3 – Without question, Canada’s Game of the Week in the CFL is Friday’s clash in Vancouver between the BC Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

It’s for first-place in the West (the teams are tied at 11-4) and eventually the right to host the West Final.

All other games matter to those involved, including Saturday’s Ticats-Riders game at Mosaic Stadium. The Ticats have already clinched a playoff spot.

Word came out of Hamilton Tuesday that injured QB Bo Levi Mitchell has begun throwing at practice after missing most of the season with various serious ailments.

My question is, why? I thought if it’s not broke, you don’t fix it.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary

Very appropriate …if it’s not broke…anyone in Saskatchewan thinks this place ain’t running right Go take a gander at what Manitoba just elected. The son of a university professor and former cbc reporter….and just a wonderful background. It would be like electing Meara Conway if she were on meth and those two regina city counselors would be here assistants. Maybe things need to go down the toilet. George dies and we celebrate the 2013 team because the individual superstars offered the ceo profanity when it was broached about honoring them as individuals. To Brad Wall, Stephen Harper…you have my without… Read more »
