TUESDAY COMMENTARY: LET THE GAMES BEGIN
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98, Rock 98.5 FM & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: The NHL is trying something new today and I think we’re all excited for it. All 32 teams are playing on a 16-game schedule – (is that the first time ever?) – and they’re calling it the Frozen Frenzy.
ESPN is providing what they’re calling “Whip Around” coverage all day-long where they’ll highlight the biggest moments from all the games.
Here in Florida the Panthers are home to the Sharks while the Lightning entertain the Hurricanes.
Let the games begin!
Next the great: One man’s loss is another man’s gain.
The breakdown in the mainstream media has left a lot of consumers at a loss for quality coverage, and information outlets to trust. However I’m happy to report that at the RP Show, our numbers have never been higher! New people are finding us everyday.
On Facebook alone, we’re doing a minimum of 6-million views per month. Finally in Year 5 of our company, the floodgates have opened.
These days it doesn’t take much – just a well-placed Hot Take here and there – to get peoples’ attention.
And getting peoples’ attention is the name of the game. (DM us for advertising opportunities)
And lastly, the ugly: It hasn’t been a banner week for two of the NHL teams we follow the most.
The Winnipeg Jets are going to be without coach Rick Bowness for a spell as he tends to his wife Judy who suffered a stroke Sunday evening.
And the Edmonton Oilers will be missing their star Connor McDavid for awhile with an injury suffered against the Jets Saturday night. His status for this weekend’s Heritage Classic versus the Flames appears in doubt.
Both absences will be felt mightily and we offer Get Well Soon wishes to all involved.
As we’ve said many times, Health Is Wealth.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary
