THURSDAY RUNDOWN: TED NOLAN, POULIN, BARNEY & MORE

Thursday was another one of those shows which featured an interview we’ve been waiting a very long time for! 1997 NHL Coach of the Year Ted Nolan joined the show to discuss his new book Life In Two Worlds from Penguin Random House.

The Garden River First Nation, Ontario product was the featured interview in Hour 1, as he detailed his storied career which famously includes being named a Jack Adams Award winner, then not coaching in pro hockey for another decade. Nolan divulged that he was the focus of several false allegations at the time, and detailed his road back. “It’s not just a story of poor boy does good,” Nolan said of his book. He spoke of his championships with the Soo Greyhounds and Moncton Wildcats, the hockey camps he runs now with his two sons, and spoke of the residential institution atrocities suffered by First Nations people. “You can’t even call them schools,” Nolan said. It was a very deep interview.

In Hour 2 we were joined by TSN hockey analyst Dave Poulin who gave his thoughts on the Leafs, Flames and more, and Humboldt Broncos Head Coach & GM Scott Barney who discussed coaching Team West at the upcoming World Junior A Challenge, and the start for his team in the SJHL season.

See you on Friday for a Football Friday featuring CFL On TSN’s Jim Barker and broadcaster Daniella Ponticelli!
