TUESDAY RUNDOWN: FLAMES TALK, ROD BLACK & MORE
It was a spooky edition of The RP Show for Episode #1,110 on Hallowe’en! Co-host Moose Dupont dressed up in costume, as has been his tradition, and wore an overalls & cowboy hat get-up just like the Flames wore to the Heritage Classic!
Flames 1989 Stanley Cup champ Colin Patterson joined the show from Calgary and said the mood is “tight” in Cowtown these days. Colin said the Flames “didn’t play very well” in Sunday’s 5-2 loss at Edmonton, their fifth loss in a row. Like most Calgary hockey pundits, he’s preaching patience to the fanbase. Patterson also promoted the inaugural Breaking Free Foundation Charity Poker Classic at Ace Airport Casino on November 4, benefitting the organization which provides free counselling for trauma victims. You can register ahead of time at the Ace Casino Poker Room.
Iconic Canadian broadcaster Rod Black joined the show from Toronto for a wide-ranging visit. The former voice of CFL On TSN said he stays in shape by playing hockey three times per week, and said he really enjoyed calling Canadian Elite Basketball Games this season! We also discussed Flag Football becoming an Olympic sport in the 2028 L.A. Olympics.
We also discussed the CFL Playoffs, previewed the Leafs & Kings and much more! If you missed the show you can catch it on our YouTube channel and all other podcast platforms.
