It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!

First the good: It’s really good that Grey Cup Week in Hamilton is underway! The Alouettes and Blue Bombers have arrived, the Grey Cup trophy was escorted in by the Navy, and take note – the Commissioner’s State of the Union address is today rather than the years-long tradition of being held Friday.

Despite repeated invites to attend, I can’t make this year’s Grey Cup due to commitments in the U.S. however I’ll be in Vancouver with bells on next year!

As it is, I’ve been to 21 Grey Cups. It won’t hurt to take a knee on just one.

Next, the great: Everybody’s happy for Kris Knoblauch and the Edmonton Oilers. They dumped the Islanders 4-1 Monday night to notch his first career win as an NHL coach. Kris is the pride of Imperial, Sask.

Connor McDavid was particularly congratulatory saying “It’s been a long road” for Knoblach. Indeed it has been, and he’s thriving after being run off by the WHL’s “cool kids” a very long time ago.

The road to redemption is a long one but the longer it is, the sweeter the destination!

And finally the ugly: I’m not joking – for anyone affected adversely by the 13th man incident in the 2009 Grey Cup, you best seek recovery therapy.

Because those PTSD wounds were opened on Monday Night Football when a too many men penalty cost the Buffalo Bills a loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Bills thought they’d clinched a key victory, but a 12-men flag gave Broncos kicker Will Lutz a second chance after a missed field goal and he made good on it from 36-yards out to seal a 24-22 victory.

Several former Roughriders from that ’09 team took to social media to thank the Bills for bringing up the most painful moment of their lives!

Burying painful memories and not processing them properly is a recipe for disaster later in life.

Get help and you can thank me later.

2009 Saskatchewan Roughriders blow a Championship. That was hilarious too watch as they celebrated way too early and forgot themselves, to this day that is the funniest moment in professional sports. The look on their faces, priceless.
