SASKATOON, SK – Robert Church scored four goals and chipped in with four assists in Saskatchewan’s nail-biting 10-9 win over the Panther City (Fort Worth) Lacrosse Club on Saturday night at SaskTel Centre. It was the first home win of the season for the Rush.
Sask carried an 8-7 lead into the final frame however Panther City scored four straight goals to stun the home crowd. The Rush flipped the script as Robert Church ripped a shot “post-and-in” to tie the game 9-9. Then, former PCLC forward Mike Triolo slipped one under the bar against his old goaltender giving the Rush the 10-9 lead and eventual victory.

Auston Matthews and his NHL all-star team beat the team captained by Connor McDavid on Saturday. The Toronto Maple Leafs star led Team Matthews with two goals — including the winner — and an assist to secure a 7-4 victory over Team McDavid in the final of the league’s 3-on-3 all-star mini tournament today. The winners share a 1-million-dollar (U-S) prize. Matthews was also named MVP.

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Martin Rysavy scored twice, Matthew Savoie had a goal and assist, and the Moose Jaw Warriors rolled past the Red Deer Rebels 6-3 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday at Moose Jaw Events Centre. Jagger Firkus, Brayden Schuurman and Atley Calvert also scored for the Warriors (30-16-0-2), who led 2-1 after the first period and 4-1 heading into the third.

The Miami Dolphins named former Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver as their defensive coordinator on Saturday. Weaver had previously interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders for their head coaching vacancies before joining the Dolphins, where he will reunite with his former coaching colleague Mike McDaniel.

Wyndham Clark came inches from a sub-60 round at Pebble Beach, California, Saturday. He settled for a 60 to set the course record and take a one-shot lead in the A-T-and-T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It might be enough for the win at the 20-million-dollar (U-S) signature event as heavy rain and wind were expected overnight and this morning. The PGA Tour might have to revert to a 54-hole tournament and Clark would be the winner. Corey Conners of Listowel, Ontario is tied for 31st, 10 shots behind Clark.
