Tuesday Commentary: Can’t Fix Stupid
(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 CKHD & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s The Good, The Great & The Ugly!
First the good: I had to dig around a little bit for this one. There’s a lot of ugliness in the world these days!
But the annual NHL Draft Lottery goes tonight and it’s always a lot of fun to follow. It’s not nearly as fun as last year as we all held our breath to see who won the lottery, and the chance to take Connor Bedard at #1. Of course it was Chicago.
Tonight the San Jose Sharks have a 25.5% chance of landing the #1 pick and you can bet they’ve got their fingers and toes crossed! The top prospect is a local boy for them – Macklin Celebrini, whose father just so works for the Golden State Warriors as Director of Sport Medicine.
Next the great: CFL training camps open this week and that’s all kinds of great!
The biggest news came Monday that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are giving franchise great Milt Stegall a one-day tryout but that announcement was completely overshadowed by Monday’s news that Jets coach Rick Bowness is retiring from the NHL after 38 seasons, and the last two with Winnipeg.
Told ya, there’s just a lot of tough luck news out there right now.
And finally, the ugly: You can’t fix stupid, but watching the goings-on of fans during these Stanley Cup Playoffs is just as ugly as it gets.
The video of the Vancouver kid screaming an F-bomb regarding the Oilers’ Zach Hyman went viral over the weekend, for all the wrong reasons. Great parenting there!
And some Canuck fans in Penticton are calling for citizens to boycott the local Boston Pizza because its owner is rooting for the rival Edmonton Oilers.
Can we all cheer for whomever we want?
Apparently not.

So if a restaurant in Regina has a sign saying Go Stamps Go you’d be cool with it and not make any comments on here about it.
This is very important topics. Zach Hyman. First and foremost he went to Michigan and is about to publish his third Children’s book. This jazz about him growing up rich and getting breaks. First thing and then second thing. First thing: To the scumbag troll reporter that states he’s only successful due to his father’s wealth and influence. Let me educate and this is how you eradicate stupidity. There is not one singular NHL player that is not in an income bracket that could not be anything but wealth. Go take a look at the Regina Cooperators and now these… Read more »
I thought the ugly would be about Toronto.
The Raptors are horrible, the Leafs are eliminated, the Blue Jays are pathetic and the Argo’s QB is being investigated.
Poor Toronto, yuk, yuk.
The QB just got a 9 game suspension.
