Tuesday Commentary: Magical

It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: As always this is going to depend on perspective here but for me, it’s good that the Florida Panthers are up 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Final after a 4-1 win over the Oilers Monday night in Sunrise.
Good because I picked the Cats, and am cheering for them. Winning the Stanley Cup will change hockey in South Florida forever.
But the Oilers definitely got hosed on calls. No two ways about it.
So that should give them sufficient motivation for Game 3 on Thursday.
That’s good too.
Next the great: I really, really love it when people and teams work together. We do it in the Recovery field everyday, and the results are simply magical.
But it’s very rare in sports so when it happens, that can be magical too. Like Saturday night when the Moose Jaw Warriors were the game sponsor for the Moose Jaw Millers baseball game at Ross Wells Park.
The WHL champion Warriors had their staff there, the League championship trophy for all to see and take pictures with, and local forward Atley Calvert threw out the first pitch.
That was simply … great.
And finally the ugly: Hey look I’m trying to block out the noise of the Caitlin Clark story from the U.S. but it’s impossible.
And this is in Canada!!
What’s ugly about it? Well, what was the best story in sports as she chased the NCAA all-time scoring record, winning March Madness with Iowa and then going #1 in WNBA Draft to Indiana has turned into a masterclass in jealously, racism and pettiness.
And now it looks like she’s not really having any fun playing the game at all, and that’s the biggest crime in all of this.

Caitlin: unbelievable what the other players and LEAGUE is doing to her!! Agreed.
Well uh first off it’s not an actual league. It’s a tax dump for wealthy owners of other legit teams. They male a profit from other business ventures and dump money into this thing to avoid taxes. It also curries favor for the legit business to show a woke/community agenda and get virtue signal points. Caitlin Clarke is Gen z. Couple things The Oilers are not going to do much if they can’t even get the shots. This is a very good hockey team. Florida is an air tight sealed up defensive hockey team with a Goalie that is doing a Dom Hasek impression. They have last change in Edmonton and hopefully take both home games. WNBA is nothing new what is happening to Cailtlon Clarke It’s debatable what type of women these are.
