Commentary: Top 10 2025 NFL Storylines

Got an email from the NFL this week outlining next month’s training camp times, dates and locations plus the schedule for the joint practices in August. One beat writer noted to me that we are currently in the deadest time on the NFL calendar.

So naturally when everybody else steps out, I step in.

Here’s my list of the Top 10 NFL storylines in 2025:

#10 – Can #1 draft pick Cam Ward, the QB out of Miami, lead the Tennessee Titans back to respectability? And if so, how soon?

#9 – How many wins do Mike Vrabel’s Patriots put up in the first year with the franchise great at the helm?

#8 – How soon will the combo of quarterback Sam Darnold and receiver Cooper Kupp pay dividends with the Seattle Seahawks?

#7 – Will Tyreek Hill lead the Miami Dolphins to the playoffs? And maybe more importantly, can he go the whole season without being arrested?

#6 – Which New York team will be better – the Giants or Jets? Who’s kidding who – they’re both gonna be bad.

#5 – The Kansas City Chiefs failed to 3-Peat. But will they get back to the Super Bowl for a fourth straight year?

#4 – Who will be the Cleveland Browns starting quarterback in Week 1? They currently have five arms on the roster.

#3 – Will first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer lead the Dallas Cowboys back to the playoffs? (I have my doubts)

#2 – Pete Carroll and his favorite quarterback Geno Smith are in charge of the Las Vegas Raiders. Can they turn the Black & Silver around?

And #1 – In what appears to be his final season, will Aaron Rodgers make the Pittsburgh Steelers a Super Bowl contender in his 40’s?

This ain’t hard. In fact, it’s a whole lot of fun!
