It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!

First the good: You can’t deny — these Olympics have been goooooooood. No wonder they save them for once every four years! And the controversy over mens and womens curling tops all the drama. Who’da thunk it?

You know me – I know curling but am not a rabid fan – so I had to do plenty of factchecking before offering up an opinion on Canada’s Marc Kennedy and Rachel Homan being accused, and found guilty, of hogline violations.

Hey, as they say, if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying and Canada got caught. This isn’t as egregious as the mens and womens soccer teams getting caught spying but guess what?

Canada’s getting a reputation.

Next the great: Mens hockey has provided more than enough drama on its own. USA’s Matthew Tkachuk chirping Germany’s Leon Draisaitl for always being the bridesmaid, “never the bride” leads the way but so too does the French defenceman being banished for ragdolling Canada’s Tom Wilson.

It cracked open the debate on social media whether the Florida Panthers would rather have Matthew Tkachuk on their team, or Draisaitl.

Uh, it’s Chucky by a mile. I don’t even need to ask.

And finally the ugly: The TV coverage is what it is – not what it used to be – but viewers have joined me in being hella confused on when the games are on and where to find them.

It wasn’t until today I realized why I couldn’t find any of the play-in hockey games on my TV on Monday. It’s because the games aren’t till today.

I’m sure that’s a ‘me’ problem.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

The Sweden curling team should remember where their bread is buttered. And that’s at the pro curling events from coast to coast in Canada. If they want to start a fight, a perfect response is to ban them from earning a living at the sport in Canada. I’d pull me sponsorship if I was a Canadian sponsor. Send a message to those Swedish idiots!

Sounds like sour grapes. Canada has only themselves to blame, they cheated, they got caught, end of subject.
