Tuesday Commentary: Who Needs Netflix?

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
It’s Tuesday and time for the Good, the Great & the Ugly!
First the good: The CFL season’s getting good. Unless you’re the Ottawa RedBlacks! (More on them in a minute). Fans and pundits had BC and Hamilton written off but here at the midway turn, both have come back to life and are in position to host home playoff games! In fact after an 0-3 start, the BC Lions have won three in a row and host the injury-riddled Roughriders Sunday at BC Place and I’ll be there.
Who needs Netflix when we have this much drama?
Next the great: Honestly, it’s the Blue Jays. They were written off too – by yours truly, I’ll admit – but they’re a half game back of a wildcard playoff spot entering today’s play. After taking home series against the Red Sox and Yankees last week, they’ve got another chance to make hay in the AL East with a midweek series beginning today in Tampa.
Turns out they’re still a good team, even after trading away expiring contracts and with Vlady on the injured list.
It feels like that old Blue Jays magic is back! But for how long? Again, who needs Netflix.
And finally the ugly: It’s the CFL’s Ottawa RedBlacks. Team President Adrian Sciarra is the latest to walk the plank as the 0-9 team announced Monday that Sciarra is being reshuffled within the sports conglomerate which owns the football team. This after a list of coaches and star players have been shown the door, yet the team continues to lose.
Unfortunately if this was a Netflix series, we’d turn it off.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.
