Saturday Sports

CFL
It’s Division Final Saturday in the CFL.
The afternoon opener features the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-9) visiting the Montreal Alouettes (14-4) in the Eastern Final at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Montreal finished atop the East and has home-field advantage after earning a bye, while Winnipeg arrives riding the momentum of a dramatic 25-22 semifinal upset of Toronto, sealed by a late Dru Brown touchdown pass to Nic Demski. Brown is expected to get the ball again this week, as regular QB1 Zach Collaros is listed as a gametime decision.
The nightcap features an intriguing Western Final showdown as the BC Lions (11-8) travel to Edmonton to face the Elks (13-5) at Commonwealth Stadium. BC quarterback Nathan Rourke is coming off a spectacular 366-yard, three-touchdown performance in a thrilling 33-26 comeback victory over Saskatchewan, but he’ll face arguably the toughest defensive assignment in the league.
Today’s winners advance to the 113th Grey Cup next Sunday in Calgary.
