TSN: RIDERS INTERESTED IN ELIMIMIAN

Solomon Elimimian hasn’t been officially released by the BC Lions yet, but according to TSN’s Farhan Lalji, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts and Saskatchewan Roughriders have all shown some interest in the linebacker.

Lalji notes that Elimimian has a good relationship with Tiger-Cats defensive coordinator Mark Washington, but all three teams have age and injury concerns about the 32-year-old Elimimian. The current timing of the situation is also a challenge, Lalji also notes, as teams have minimal cap space as free agency opened back in February.

TSN Football Insider Dave Naylor reported last Friday that the Lions have told Elimimian that he will be released.

Elimimian has spent his entire CFL career with the Lions, playing nine seasons and winning two Most Outstanding Defensive Player Awards (2014, 2016), and the 2014 Most Outstanding Player Award. He played in only four games last season after a wrist injury, finishing with 26 tackles.

In 118 career regular season games, Elimimian has 745 tackles, 29 sacks, and eight interceptions.
