ALOUETTES OFFER BOMBERS’ RIGMAIDEN G-M JOB
TSN’s Farhan Lalji is reporting the Montreal Alouettes have offered Ryan Rigmaiden their General Manager’s position. Rigmaiden is currently the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Director of U.S. Scouting.
Here is Rigmaiden’s bio from the Bombers’ website:
- Ryan Rigmaiden returns to the Blue Bombers for his second season in his role as the club’s Director of College Scouting.
- Prior to joining the Bombers in 2018, Rigmaiden spent the previous six years with the B.C. Lions, the last four as the team’s Director of U.S. Scouting.
- Rigmaiden makes North Carolina his home and, in addition to his college and pro scouting duties, also coordinates the efforts of the Bombers regional scouts.
- Before his CFL days, Rigmaiden held the position of Director of Player Personnel for the Arena Football League’s Spokane Shock in 2007, and was promoted to GM in 2010.
- During his time with the Shock Rigmaiden’s keen eye for finding players resulted in an 88-31 record during his time there, including three league championship appearances and two championships, in 2009 and 2010.
Why????? Why hire Rigmaiden?????? Doesn’t make any damn sense. On the right hand you have the league trying to woo new ownership while on the left hand you have them hiring a head coach ahead of a gm which seems so backwards, what the hell is going down there at CFL headquarters and Randy Ambrosie??????? Wouldn’t new ownership put their own staff hires in place as they please ??????? Everything Randy Ambrosie does is out of place, he’s making the CFLeague look very disorganized, Bush League, tarnished very unprofessional. Randy’s time is up he’s got to go!
