ARGOS ACQUIRE BOMBEN FOR HEATH, SIGN MEDEIROS

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts have acquired National OL Ryan Bomben and a fifth-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft from Montreal in exchange for International DB TJ Heath and a third-round pick in 2020.

Bomben, an eight-year CFL veteran, was originally drafted by Montreal in the 2010 CFL Draft. The native of Burlington, Ontario spent his first four seasons in the CFL with Montreal before being traded to Hamilton in 2015. After playing in the Steel City for three years, Bomben was eventually traded back to the Alouettes previous to the 2018 season. A three-time CFL East Division All-Star (2015-2017), Bomben will bring 126 games of CFL experience to an already seasoned Argonauts offensive line. The 6’5, 295-pound lineman played his University football at Guelph.

Meanwhile the Argonauts have announced the signing of National K/P Zackary Medeiros to the team’s practice roster.

The St. Thomas, ON native, was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos but most recently saw time with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016. Used primarily as a punter with Ottawa, Medeiros punted 62 times for 2162 yards (43.7 avg.) including a long of 76 yards vs. Saskatchewan in Week 5. After starting his University career with the Montreal Carabins, Medeiros played for the London Beefeaters of the Canadian Junior Football League before finishing with the Western Mustangs.
