ARGOS OFFICIALLY MOVE SATURDAY GAME TO HAMILTON
The Toronto Argonauts Football Club provided the following update on the location of the team’s upcoming regular season home game on Saturday, October 17 against the Calgary Stampeders.
“We can now confirm that our home game scheduled for this Saturday, October 17 at 4:00 p.m. ET against the Calgary Stampeders will be played at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. This solution provides our team with a neutral-site that meets CFL and broadcast standards,” said Argonauts Executive Chairman & CEO, Chris Rudge. “We anticipated that the Blue Jays would have a competitive post-season run and, as previously announced, we prepared this contingency plan for exactly this scenario. I would again like to thank the Tiger-Cats organization for accommodating our move and assisting us with this challenge.”
Rudge continued, “We have continued to work on alternate plans for our October 23 home game against the Montreal Alouettes should there be another similar conflict with the MLB post-season schedule. As previously announced those plans are not yet final but will most likely also result in our team playing at Tim Hortons Field. We will communicate the appropriate details as early as possible once a decision is known. Again, we thank everyone for their continued support and patience during this unusual time.”
Fans whose ticket packages include the October 17 home game will continue to be contacted by Toronto Argonauts ticket representatives. Fans that have purchased tickets to any 2015 Toronto Argonauts home game that has been, or will be, displaced by the 2015 MLB post-schedule will be fully reimbursed once all disruptions are known.
Ticket information for the October 17 game in Hamilton is available by calling an Argonauts ticket representative at 416-341-ARGO (2746). Tickets are now available for purchase online by visiting argonauts.ca or ticketmaster.ca.
Sooner the Argos can leave that crap hole called Rogers stadium the better for the whole league.
why can't the Jays just schedule around the football game??
Maybe they should have played it at Mosaic Stadium. We finally would have saw two good football teams playing this season. And no Rider game this weekend to worry about.
Just one more reason to NOT cheer for the blue jays. My favorite team is any team kicking their ass.
Would have been good to see them play at Mosaic. Too bad Tim Horton's Field wasn't built somewhere in the middle and they both could have played there. Just would have made sense like the Jets and the Giants of NY do. And great use of the facility.
It's shameful the way this team is treated. Argo fans deserve better.
The Argos are a minor league team playing in a major league venue. The 12,000 Argo fans will probably be at the Jays or game or watching it on TV.
Great point about building the new stadium halfway between the Hammer and the Big Smoke….would have made a lot of sense for both teams…
All you people whining about the Jays- get over it. It is a fact- in some markets the CFL is not the primary sports draw. Rogers owns the venue and the team they own will play at the venue they own. The semi-pro CFL takes a back seat, as the anon said above the 12k fans will be at the Jays game.
Toronto Blue Jays relevant for the first time in 20 years.
Ya think?
eff rogers. hopefully the blue jays will soon return to irrelevance for another 20 odd years.
Blue jays are a real franchise in a real league. The Argos are joke in a joke of a league that doesn't even know its own rules
"Blue jays are a real franchise in a real league."
Too bad they don't play a REAL SPORT
fold this misfits and rejects league already. pathetic doesnt even do it justice
