BEAVERS 3 RED SOX 2

The Weyburn Beavers got an extra inning walk-off sacrifice fly from Jordan Anderson to defeat the Regina Red Sox 3-2 on Monday.

Close to 300 fans at Tom Laing Park watched the Beavers pick up their 22nd win of the season. With Monday night’s loss the Red Sox dropped to 24-18.

Scott Beever started for Weyburn and earned a no decision. In six inning of work he fanned seven Red Sox batters while allowing one earned run on five hits. Eric Evans came on in relief and picked up his second win of the season for the Beavers.

Red Sox catcher Will Frei went two for four at the dish with a home run. His two RBIs raised his season total to 24.

Andrew Mirasty made his six start going seven innings before turning the ball over to the Red Sox bullpen.

Reliver Skyler Henson was tagged with the Red Sox loss.  Henson walked two, struck out one and allowed the game winning run.

Next action for the Red Sox is Tuesday, July 26 when the Yorkton Cardinals visit Currie Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
