BEDARD SCORES FOUR IN PATS WIN OVER WARRIORS

Regina, Sask. – Connor Bedard’s fourth goal of the game capped off a thrilling 7-6 overtime win for the Regina Pats over the Moose Jaw Warriors in front of a crowd of 4,070 at the Brandt Centre on Saturday afternoon.

In Bedard’s first game back from the World Juniors, he scored his first career WHL hat-trick, as well as his third career overtime winner, leading the Pats to a New Year’s Day victory. It’s the Pats fifth win over their last six New Year’s Day games, with now four ending in overtime.

There were five different Pats’ leads broken up by the Warrrios throughout this hockey game. After Regina took a 2-0 lead in the first with two short-handed goals, Moose Jaw tied it at two before the Warriors and Pats continued to exchange goals before overtime. On top of Bedard’s four goal game, Logan Nijhoff (1G-1A) scored for a seventh straight game and Cole Dubinsky (1G-1A) added a multi-point effort.

The Pats extend their season series lead over Moose Jaw to 4-2. They’ll meet again on January 29th and 30th for a home-and-home set.
