BIG "GET" FOR RIDERS

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced international defensive back Derrius Brooks has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Brooks (5’10 – 192) will join the Riders after spending the 2012 and 2013 CFL seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. The Western Kentucky product signed with the New Orleans Saints in January, 2014 where attended training camp and played four preseason games. Brooks then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad in September, where he remained for the season.

With the Stampeders, the 27-year-old Columbus, Georgia native collected 52 defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, and five interceptions in 20 regular season games. He also had 16 defensive tackles in three playoff games while adding one tackle in the 2012 Grey Cup.

The days of the 5'10" DB are over – didn't Jones and Murphy get the memo. Opps I forgot they can't read either.

The 2015 Grey Cup Champs are The Edmonton Eskimos and sliders are 3-15

If he can perform at the level he was at when he played for Calgary, then it was a good pickup. This cost the Riders nothing to have a player of this caliber come to camp. The worst thing that will happen is that he will be cut during training camp. The best thing is that he will be an all-star like when he played for Calgary. There is only upside to this signing.

The Riders are 2013 Grey Cup Champs and the Eskimos were 4-14.

Same relevance in 2016.

Huf wanted him bad but he wanted to go where the heart of the CFL is. Can't blame him.

No relevance between the two, the Eskies will repeat as will the riders the Eskies repeat as champs and the sliders repeat as chumps as worst team in CFL.

There is Zero upside to this signing nobody else wanted him so he is forced to a bottom feeder with the lowly sliders at 3-15

Things must be boring at the Sherwood Park correctional facility. Mr. 'Sliders' sent two e-mails instead of his usual one.

“No relevance between the two, the Eskies will repeat as will the riders the Eskies repeat as champs and the sliders repeat as chumps as worst team in CFL.” What seems to be the problem here? Were you bullied too much as a kid, or are you still a kid, and still being bullied? Listen little fella sometimes life doesn’t seem fair. Sometimes things change and, well, we just have to accept them. In the end, who knows, maybe your Eskies will be even better next year… Wouldn’t that be nice little buddy? But we’ll just have to wait and… Read more »
