SASKATOON (CP) – Connor Gay scored the winner in the sixth round of the shootout as the Blades snapped a five-game skid with a 2-1 win over Regina Sunday afternoon.
Cameron Hebig scored in regulation for Saskatoon (11-16-3). Brock Hamm stopped 29 shots in regulation and overtime, and all six shooters in the shootout for the victory.
Adam Brooks struck for the Pats (15-13-4), who got a 37-save performance from Tyler Brown.
NOTES: The Blades outshot the Pats 39-32 … The Pats were 0/8 on the powerplay and 3/3 killing penalties … The attendance was 3624 … After losing 15 in a row against Regina, the Blades have now won two straight.
Regina hosts Kamloops Tuesday at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.
The Pat's are a young and upcoming team, they won't win all there games. They may have been intimidated by the large crowd, 3300 fans 12,000 empty seats. Why is the NHL not moving to this hockey mad market?
Great point. Lots of teams get 15000 fans for junior hockey. Maybe Regina should have built an 80000 seat stadium for their bush league football team and have 3/4 of it sit empty.
GO BLADES!!!!!!!!!
Saskatoon, just not ready
Poser #4 so Saskatonish
Not bright enough to get the point
Please clarify
Attendance is low right across the board and if the WHL does not recognize this very soon they will be in big trouble. Regina and Saskatoon average per game attendance is very similar neither one is blowing each other out of the park in attendance if this is where this discussion is going. Both average approx. 4000 per game.
