Regina – The Regina Pats lost 6-4 to the visiting Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre.

The Blades led 1-0 and 2-1 in the first but goals from Sam Steel and Josh Mahura drew the Pats even at 2-2. Saskatoon then jumped out to a 4-2 lead before Matt Bradley picked up his eighth and it was 4-3 after 20 minutes.

The clubs traded goals in the second, Brad Goethals for Saskatoon and then George King for the Pats who trailed 5-4 going to the final period.

Regina outshot Saskatoon 13-9 in the third but could not beat Ryan Kubic and Cameron Hebig would score an empty netter with 20 seconds left to give the Blades the 6-4 victory.

The Pats outshot Saskatoon 31-27, the powerplay was oh for two and the penalty kill two for three. Matt Bradley led the offence with a goal and an assist while Max Paddock made nine saves on 14 shots and Tyler Brown stopped all 12 he faced.

The Pats will hit the road on Friday for their next game in Prince Albert against the Raiders. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.
