The Regina Pats comeback fell short on Tuesday night in a 4-3 loss to the Kamloops Blazers at the Brandt Centre.

In the first period the Blazers got off to a great start and took the 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Gage Quinney and Matt Needham.  In fact the Pats didn’t register a shot on goal until the 9:58 mark of the opening period, and by then they were down 1-0.  Regina responded with just eight seconds left in the frame with a powerplay goal by Sam Steel and it was 2-1 Blazers after 20 minutes.

In the second the Blazers scored shorthanded from Garrett Pilon and then even strength from Collin Shirley taking a 4-1 lead to the third.

In the final frame the Pats got to within a goal thanks to markers from Chase Harrison and Adam Brooks but the Blazers held on for the 4-3 win. The Pats outshot Kamloops 16-5 in the final 20.

NOTES: Regina outshot Kamloops 42-31 … The Pats were 1/3 on the powerplay and 2/2 killing penalties … Regina goalie Tyler Brown took the loss making 27 saves … The attendance was 3267.

The Pats (15-14-4) are back in action on Friday when they host the Saskatoon Blades at 7 o’clock at the Brandt Centre on 620 CKRM and Access 7.

Slow start by the Pat's but a strong finish. A couple of days to get ready for the weekend games. Not sure what gives with the sound system but it's been brutal the last couple of games.

Go Pats

Another tough 4-3 loss tonight but a good exciting game none the less…bad luck on the non-offside call but S&*^ happens. Thought the Blazers tender should have been #1 star. The boys didn't toss in the towel when they could have, being down 4-1; showed great character. Hobbs hip check was a must see on the highlight reel!

Either you have the talent or you don't, and the coaching or you don't. The coaches comments are the same after every game. Fact is since the last trade deadline we are a sub .500 regular season team. There are a lot of other younger teams playing much better.… Read more »

Typical anonymous comments always need something to complain about. Pat's could win every game and a memorial cup and you'd still complain.

To the third anon – the Pats are the second youngest team in the WHL…so stating that "There are a lot of other younger teams playing much better." couldn't be further from the truth. If you are comparing the current Management and Coaching Staff to the Parker regime…you need help, both factually and psychologically. It's called a re-build for a reason…doesn't happen over night and rarely happens in one year, especially with Junior players.
