BLOOD STILL BOILING BETWEEN RIDERS AND BOMBERS

The Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are not over what took place during their rematch at the Banjo Bowl. At the end of the second quarter, two Saskatchewan players were kicked out of the game after Bombers quarterback Andrew Harris ripped the helmet off of Roughriders defensive back Christian Campbell. The Riders reacted and a brawl ensued, the Rider franchise and fans were expecting to see Harris ejected after review, but it was only the green and white to leave the field.

“The Riders and head coach Craig Dickenson have been vocal about the situation,” said 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk on Wednesday’s Rod Pedersen Show. “Dickenson has even talked to the league, and is hoping there is going to be supplementary discipline coming for the Bomber’s.”

Dunk said he would not be surprised to “see the CFL levying some fines, specifically on Andrew Harris.”

The fines however don’t change the fact that Riders lost 9-33, which is one of the main concerns of this whole ordeal. The command center is getting some heat for not taking a longer look at what happened and making calls too quickly. It is crucial that officials make the right calls because it can determine who gets first place in their division and hosts the last final.

“I agree, it’s a big deal,” said Rod Pedersen responding to Dunk on Tuesday’s show. “But my take is the Bombers punched the Riders in the mouth on Labour Day, and then in the ensuing Banjo Ball, they picked them up and threw them out of the cage—The Bombers completely dominated the Riders.”

Anyone who watched the Bango Bowl game knows there is no doubt that the Bombers played strong. An issue like this however, still has Dunk believing the Riders would have had a greater chance at winning.

“People are also talking about another missed call in the second quarter that some are saying could have set the Riders up for a touchdown,” said Dunk. “The Riders were only down 12-9 at halftime, so I don’t think they ‘threw them out the cage’ before the second half.”

It is also important to take into consideration that the Riders star quarterback Cody Fajardo did not play the second half of this game due to injury, which would have affected the Rider’s game as well.

It’s fair to say the Riders faced many obstacles in Week 6 of the CFL, but let’s see if they can get back on track for Week 7 against the Toronto Argonauts.

They most certainly on threw them out the cage in both games. Where that happened was on the line of scrimmage. The Roughriders were completely dominated there and in all 3 phases of the game. This is what I’d tell the Roughriders. Don’t blame people, mind you if you’re going to then you have a guy that decided to take the season off to go to the beach and you have another guy that was to dehydrated to miterate and that has cost 43 guys on game days. Argue all they want after the fact but here is reality in… Read more »

The inmates are running the asylum in Saskatchewan, nobody has control from a management perspective.

It seems like only of the team’s blood is still boiling. It predictably is the team that got it’s head kicked in 2 weeks in a row.

This Roughriders 2021 team should just shut the hell up, or the next time Andrew Harris will rip off some Rider helmet with somebody’s head still inside it. Sore losers those Saskatchewan Roughriders and their fanbase. End of subject!

You make it seem like the whole thing started when Harris ripped off the helmet. I doubt the bombers started it, they wanted to celebrate another touchdown. After the half neither game was close. Bombers at this point are the best team in the league. We will see what happens in the playoffs. First place is a long way from Cup champs.

Absolutely. The sun reported rhat someone was jamming their elbow into a bluebomber and Demski went in to pull him off his teammate… then micah johnson “ragdolled” demski(his words) and THEN the brawl started and Harris ripped the helmet off… riders were the ones throwing punches. That is why they were disqualified. Harris got a penalty. Riders were being sore loser and playing cheap both games. Bombers got fed up

Rod Pederson needs viewers for his show. Media looking for any cheap junk they can scrap together. Rider fans will always love and support their team. But don’t need the useless chatter from a province so butthurt for respect.

Blue Bombers didn’t start that brawl, Micah Johnson did. He’ll probably get away with no disciplinary action by the inept CFL honchos.

In other news,
Derek Moncrief just made the Edmonton Elks the West Division team that will faceoff against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the right to play in the 2021 Grey Cup game against the Toronto Argonauts.

hey Roy, perhaps rethink this one. The Elks QB has no offensive line to protect him and he gets sacked 6 or 7 times each game. Moncrief can do all he wants but the Elks wont score a TD with Harris on his arse the whole game.. heee heeee

Quite frankly I’m really tired of Justin Dunk and his man love for the saskatchewan roughriders team, he’s got a problem, so I’ll just stop reading 3downnation. Look at his website and you’ll see his incessant reports of the roughriders with article after article, I’d like to hear about the other teams and the going ons in the CFL not just the pathetic riders.
