BLUE JAYS LEAD ALDS 2-0

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Blue Jays are heading home with a 2-0 lead in their American League Division Series.

Toronto used the long ball to batter Texas starter Yu Darvish en route to a 5-3 win over the Rangers in Game 2 today.

The win didn’t come without some tense moments as the Rangers mounted a comeback with two runs in the eighth.

But Toronto closer Roberto Osuna came in to get the remaining two outs then held off Texas in the ninth, despite giving up a double to open the inning.

Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer in the second inning while Kevin Pillar, Ezequiel Carrera and Edwin Encarnacion added solo shots for Toronto.

The Blue Jays return home sitting pretty with AL ERA leader Aaron Sanchez set to throw Sunday at the Rogers Centre.

While the champagne may be chilling, they will remember that Texas won the first two games of the 2015 ALDS on the road before losing the next three.

The long-ball barrage chased Darvish. He was replaced at the start of the sixth after yielding give runs on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Toronto starter J.A. Happ left in the sixth after giving up nine hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
