BOMBERS BRING BACK TWO VETS

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the re-signing of offensive lineman Steve Morley and punter Mike Renaud. Both non-imports were scheduled to become free agents in February, 2014.

“Both of these individuals exemplify solid Canadian talent for us. Steve is a veteran presence on our offensive line and a key piece up front for us moving forward, while Mike is a guy who has punted well over the course of his time here, is a great community presence for us and a good teammate. We’re really excited to have them both back in 2014,” said General Manager Kyle Walters.

Morley started eleven games in 2013 on the offensive line, missing some time due to injury – the first time he has not started every game during a season since joining the club in 2009. He will be returning to the Bombers for his sixth season, his ninth in the CFL. Morley is heavily involved in the community throughout the province and calls Winnipeg his year-round home.

Renaud returns to the Bombers for his sixth season in 2014, playing in all 18 games in 2013 and finishing with a punting average of 43.9, up two yards from his 2012 average. Renaud punted the ball 154 times in 2013, for 6,753 yards. Renaud also lives year-round in Winnipeg.
