BOMBERS FIRE BURKE

The Winnipeg Football Club announces today that Tim Burke will not return as Head Coach in 2014.

“We thank Tim for his passion, hard work and professionalism throughout the past year and a half he has been in this role, and for his tireless efforts over the past three seasons with the Winnipeg Football Club,” says President and CEO Wade Miller. “If an opportunity does arise for him to join our staff as a defensive coordinator, our organization would definitely be open to exploring this with Tim.”

“I’ve really enjoyed my time in Winnipeg and am grateful for the opportunity this franchise gave me. The fan support in this city and province is just really remarkable and it is one of the greatest things I can take away from this experience in Winnipeg,” said Burke.

Burke joined the Blue Bomber coaching staff prior to the 2011 season in the role of Defensive Coordinator, before taking over on an interim basis in August of 2011 and officially being named Head Coach on November 1, 2012.

Not a big surprise. With the Grey Cup in 10 days or less, and every CFL person being in Regina, it is the opportune time to look for another coach.

Let's throw Richie under the bus and hire Tim, kind of like we threw Etch away so we could hire Richie.

Now we hear the Buffalo Sabres have fired GM Darcy Regier and coach
Ron Rolston and have hired Pat Lafontaine to be President of Hockey Operations for the franchise. Must be something in the water this morning!

Khari leaves and Kerry Joseph steps in – Khari good – Kerry better – stronger communicator – more passionate. Good opportunity for both Khari and Kerry. When Kerry said he would like to return to Saskatchewan after the last Eskimo game, he "knew" something was in the works. Small League – not many secrets .

Kerry Joseph as QB coach? The guy who had a grand total of ONE season worth talking about? I don't think so.

For a bunch of so called insiders you seem to lack logic and actual information. How do you know that Kerri is a stronger communicator than Khari? Did Darrian tell you that? Seeing a guy do an interview on TV does not make him a strong communicator off, or even a coach. By that Logic, Casey Printers is just as qualified. We won an MVP and he's articulate, lol Why would Kerry be a better QB coach than Kahari? Because you like him? LMAFO at the bone head logic in Rider nation.

My guess is Lapolice to Ottawa with kavis as DC. Winnipeg is not going to pick someone like khari for HC, they need some experience there, atlest someone with coordinator experience. I would someone like Marshall might get a look in Winnipeg,

Marshall! His experience in Sask and this yr as DC in Edm don't exactly scream out a must hire.
