BOMBERS RE-CLAIM KOHLERT, LURE AWAY NEWMAN

Blue Bomber General Manager Kyle Walters announced the club has signed non-import wide receiver Rory Kohlert. As per team policy, details of the agreement are not disclosed.

Kohlert has spent the past two seasons with the Blue Bombers, but was chosen by Ottawa in the expansion draft in December.

He finished 2013 with 45 receptions for 493 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He hauled in 10 receptions for 148 yards and one touchdown in his first season with Winnipeg in 2012.

“Rory is a solid, dependable, Canadian receiver, and we are very happy he chose to return to Winnipeg. He was really coming into his own in 2013, and we look forward to even better things moving forward,” said General Manager Kyle Walters.

The Bombers also signed free agent slotback Nick Moore, who had previously been with the B.C. Lions, and reportedly signed free agent Canadian defensive back Graig Newman.  Newman, a Saskatoon product, spent the past two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
