BRONCOS 3 PATS 1

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. (CP) – Jon Martin struck twice as the Broncos toppled Regina 3-1 Friday night in the Frontier City.  Martin’s first of the game, at 11:36 of the second period, stood up as the game-winner.  He also added an empty-net goal before a hometown crowd of 2086.

Cavin Leth opened the scoring late in the first period for Swift Current (7-8-2).

Taylor Cooper tied the game 24 seconds after Leth’s goal for the Pats (7-7-1).

Tyler Brown took the loss in the Pats goal making 37 saves while Landon Bow got the win for the Broncos with 25 stops.  Swift Current outshot the Pats 40-26.

Regina returns home Saturday night to face the Victoria Royals at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.

….a real lack of effort and toughness last night. They need some scoring and leadership from their vets since nobody else has emerged. It's not a team built for the road, so management better look at what they have. Some are worth keeping and others aren't regardless of age. Some fine tuning and a few pieces still needed….

I wonder why Paddock didn't do something about that cheap shot Hilsendager took from Martin. Did he not see that coming? I wonder why any of the five guys on the ice didn't do anything about. Probably because we have nobody who can or has the guts to respond. This team is sorely in need of some toughness and Macklin isn't the answer. Find a couple guys with some jam.

Pats are heading to the bottom of the class. The Blades will be ahead of them come playoff time.
