Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats dropped their first game of the preseason 6-1 at the hands of the Swift Current Broncos Thursday evening at the Cooperators Arena.  This was the second game of the Regina Pats Pre-season Tournament at the Cooperators Arena which runs until Saturday night.

Swift Current’s Glenn Gawdin opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the game.  Gawdin added his second of the night at the 15:52 mark, on the power play.  In the middle frame, the Broncos pulled ahead 4-0 on the strength of two quick goals from Aleksi Heponiemi less than a minute apart.  Gawdin recorded the hat trick before the period was out, 5-0 Swift Current.

Nick Henry recorded his first goal as a Pat, late in the third, to make it 5-1.  However, Swift Current added one more and it was a 6-1 Broncos final.

What’s Next?
The Regina Pats Preseason Tournament continues Friday with the Broncos and Blades meeting at 3 p.m. and the Pats and Raiders at 7 p.m.  All games take place at the Cooperators Arena.  Cost to get in is $5 at the door or $15 for a weekend pass.  The tournament wraps up Saturday night when the Pats host the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Wow those Pats are sure looking "HOT" ! 12 Shots on goal in a whole game ?

Are there not other teams in this Tourney? Why only Pats scores. Keep us up on all scores and make it a little more interesting to everyone not just Patsy fans.
