BRONCOS HIRE DIXON
SWIFT CURRENT SK – The Swift Current Broncos are happy to announce Josh Dixon has joined the team as an associate coach.
Dixon comes to the Swift Current Broncos organization after working as an assistant coach with The Regina Pats since 2012. Last season Dixon helped The Pats to a 39-26-0-7 record and a first place finish in the WHL’s East Division.
“The experience he has in the league is one thing, but what sticks out are his organizational skills and work ethic.” said Broncos Head Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb of Dixon.
“He is well educated and qualified to do all of the off ice training and oversee the fitness aspect of the Broncos organization as well” added Lamb.
“I’m feeling ecstatic to work with Mark Lamb and his staff” commented Josh Dixon from Penticton, BC where he is participating in a charity golf tournament.
“I’m very excited to join the team they have in place and contribute this season,” said Dixon.
Dixon replaces Darren Evjen who stepped down as associate coach after 4 seasons with the Broncos.
Meet the WHL's next future head coach. Not coming to terms with this guy was a major gaff on the Pats part and once again shows why there aren't any real banners hanging from the rafters at the Brandt.
Good luck Josh can't wait to see you has HC of your own club.

Cameron will be a head coach with a team in the near future. Dixon getting hired by Swift is feather in their cap. Firing those two guys was one of the dumbest moves perpetuated in a long while. Then you hear of alumni and do the names of Dumba, Sobchuck, Hicke, Lowes, Derkatch mean anything. All were coaches here. Their combined results were marginal at best. Certainly no championships or pennants there among that group. Hard to see where anyone they hire could be better than what they had. I'm sure Cassan was interviewed for an assistant spot like Brockman.… Read more »

It clearly starts at the top. Dixon got hired in Swift Current, and Malcolm Cameron would be a good fit in Moose Jaw.
Coaching and Scouting have never been the issues in Regina, not once. The issues are systemic, but they are one piece away from clearing the deck chairs, scrubbing and starting over.
This hiring kind of shows that Dixon's contract was not a money issue like the new group is trying to portray. Not one bit! When Swift Current who have financial issues can find enough money to hire him? I'm pretty sure we could have done the same. The loss of those guys is going to hurt this team in more ways than one. This was a punch in the gut to the fans. Most fans liked the way they played and the overall results. When you consider this team had limited talent or depth yet still won the pennant in… Read more »
