BRONCOS TOP PATS 4-3

Regina, Sask. — The Swift Current Broncos picked up a big 4-3 win over the Regina Pats on Monday afternoon in front of over 5,700 fans at the Brandt Centre.

The contest was tight throughout, with the game knotted 2-2 through 20 minutes, and then 3-2 in favour of the visitors after 40 minutes. The Pats tied the game less than five minutes into the final frame, but Josh Davies of the Broncos would then score the eventual game-winner at the 7:59 mark.

Tanner Howe, Connor Bedard and Stanislav Svozil each found the back of the net for the Pats, while Davies and Karson King each notched a pair of goals for Swift Current.

The Pats outshot the Broncos 32-23 in the game, including 15-8 in the third period. The Pats had a strong effort to tie the game late and hit a couple posts, plus Isaac Poulter made some standout stops, including a last second pad save on Howe.

The Pats went 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

Bedard recorded a multi-point game for the eighth consecutive contest, giving him 20 points in his last eight games, and 43 points over his last 18 games. Sixteen-year-old Howe also had a multi-point game, increasing his point streak to five games (3G-5A), and giving him 42 points this season.
