BRUINS ELIMINATED AT WESTERN CANADA CUP
The host Estevan Bruins have been eliminated from playoff contention at the Junior A Western Canada Cup by virtue of a 2-1 loss to the SJHL-champion Melfort Mustangs Tuesday evening at Affinity Place.
The Mustangs’ victory means they’ll compete in the 3-versus-4 playoff game Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile the BCHL-champion West Kelowna Warriors knocked off the MJHL-champion Portage Terriers 3-2 in overtime in Tuesday’s early game.
The result means West Kelowna moves to 2-1 while Portage falls to 2-0-1.
There is only one game on Wednesday as Portage faces the AJHL-champion Brooks Bandits at 7:00 pm.
