BULLS 14 RED SOX 7

The Lethbridge Bulls defeated the Regina Red Sox 14-7 in a battle of the bats Saturday at Currie Field. 325 Red Sox fans watched the Bulls jump out to an early 6-0 lead before Regina battled back to grab a 7-6 lead in the fifth inning. It was all Lethbridge in the late innings as they went on to score eight unanswered runs to win 14-7.

The Bulls had 22 hits while the Red Sox scattered 16 hits including a three run blast from Jake Howard in the fifth inning.  Brock Frentzel was an offensive monster for Lethbridge reaching base five times, scoring three runs and adding two RBI.

Tanner Jesson-Dalton picked up the Lethbridge win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out one and surrendered just three hits in his inning of work.

Starter Allan Sanchez, now 0-2, took the loss for the Regina Red Sox. He allowed eight runs over six innings while striking out six Bull batters.

The Lethbridge Bulls improved to 8-2 while Regina dropped to 4-3. The same two teams will meet Sunday at Currie Field with the first pitch set for 2:05 pm.
