BURRIS TO THE JAGUARS
Two sources confirmed to The RP Show Saturday morning that Henry Burris is joining the coaching staff of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Canadian Football Hall of Famer from Spiro, OK spent the past two seasons on the offensive staff of the NFL’s Chicago Bears. Earlier this month Burris joined the B.C. Lions as an offensive consultant, however Friday night Lions head coach Rick Campbell announced Burris was stepping down to accept an NFL opportunity.
We’ve since learned that opportunity is with the Jags, whom are coming off a 3-14 season in which they fired first-year coach Urban Meyer.
Burris, 46, won three Grey Cups as a quarterback in the CFL in a career which spanned 19 years (1998-2016). As a player he also spent time on the roster of the Green Bay Packers (2001) and Chicago Bears (2002).
On February 3, Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Pederson was named head coach of the Jaguars, replacing Meyer.

Sorry Hank………this from the same guy who was going to work remotely from Chicago because of his family situation……which I get and is laudable. But the NFL calls and he’s let out of a CFL contract?! Is he moving to Jacksonville?! I like and admire him, but I’m tired of these guys talking out of both sides of their mouths……..reminds me of……oh ya’! Chris Jones.
Never hold a guy back. They do it themselves. Regarding Jacksonville. There is a reason why John Elway and Eli Manning said no way jose were they going to the Baltimore Colts and San Diego Chargers. I can envision the first film session. “Trevor you see those the open Receivers? There is also an open Running Back that can catch out of the back field….now when you see that…..throw downfield into double coverage and if you take long enought the Safety can get over to make it a triple coverage interception”.
