CAN WE PACK THE DOME?

We’re now a day away from one of the biggest Regina Pats games of the year and our Pack The Dome campaign continues.  The Pats host the Kootenay Ice in a huge WHL Eastern Conference showdown in the Brandt Centre.

The game is to be shown nationally on Rogers Sportsnet and frankly there’s nothing more unsightly than watching these major junior games on TV and seeing thousands of empty seats.

With the Regina Pats sitting only a point out of first-place in the WHL’s East Division and possibly poised to claim just their third pennant in a generation, it’s time for the Queen City to show its support for their hockey team.

What do you say … can we Pack The Dome on Friday and show Canada that we’re not just a football town?  At $20 a seat, I think so.

Let’s do it.

Great effort Rod you should be applauded, I'll be there but sadly it will be a half empty barn like it has been many times this year.

Good luck Pats!

I will not step foot in that building as long as its owned by the Parkers. I hate everything to do with the Pats until they sell.

Once they sell, I will be the first in line buying season tickets for my family.

Way to hard on the Parker! They brought their money here to keep a team in Regina! Unfortunately he was not a great manager or had great talent in putting together a winner but owners don't have to be. Now they have that cleared up hockey fans need to support the kids they are working hard. We have a good coach, the GM is doing what he can to get better players on the ice. No one is asking you to mortage your home…just to come to see one game for city pride Pat pride…owners come & go but the… Read more »

Since Chad Lang took over as GM this team has been on the upswing. It takes time. The team is very much worth watching now. There will be a really strong push by this team through the rest of the season and into the playoffs.

LOl Roddy protecting his buddy Mapes and Brent in the comments.

Hide all the comments you want Rod its your blog, but the people in this community are speaking the truth, they want change.

Just look at Prince George and how much that community hates the Broadsky family, they average 1800 fans a game….Regina will be there soon.

The Parker's are good people. Anybody who has met them will know that. They have worked hard to bring a winner here. I admit there was some issues through a few years of perhaps the owner making player personnel decisions which didn't work out. Chad Lang as GM and now with Malcolm Cameron as head coach they have righted the ship and they appear to be moving in the right direction now.
Come out on Friday and see what I mean. This team has been fun to watch lately.

As said above the Parkers as GM were not that great but the GM is now not the Parkers. As owners they preserved a franchise that was not very solvent when they purchased it in 1995. They brought to Regina a Memorial Cup and a World Junior Tournament. The team is now playing very entertaining hockey. The young men, playing the games, deserve our support. Bury your hatchet and come see some entertaining hockey.

Rod sorry to say its not even a football town, its a Roughriders town. not many people get out and watch high school, RMF or university football in Regina. Even the NFL isnt that big of a draw in regina bars and resturants. but when a Riders game is on its packed. its sad because they are all great football to watch but only the Riders seem to matter.

I will be there Friday night and yea its only $20 but add two people, four drinks, two popcorns its more of a $100 night out.

B Parker steps aside…C Lang takes over…the team getting better as shown by being 1 point out of Division lead…the boys have been playing some exciting hockey all this year…you are using "ownership" as an excuse guys…

Oh grow up Parker "haters!" I say kudos to the Parker family for handing over everything to Chad Lang and company, and trust me, I didn't think much of the Parker family when they were running things but I still supported the TEAM through thick and thin. I go to the games to watch the PATS PLAYERS play hockey, not to see if the Parker family is sitting up in their booth. Chad Lang has done some great things with this team and the players deserve to have people come out and watch them play. The ones who refused to… Read more »

We're going…taking our girls team of 14 players, 4 Coaches, 10 Parents.

There are a lot of Sask players on Kootenay…even 16 yr old D Troy Murray from White City – Ryan Murray's brother.

I can't complain…our schedule this year has kept me away from too many Pats games.

Kudos to Chad Lang for the moves he's made to make this team into a contender.

"I will not step foot in that building as long as its owned by the Parkers. I hate everything to do with the Pats until they sell."

Are you 5 years old?? GROW UP and get over it.

Your the same guy that used to say "until Brent Parker steps down I won't watch another game"

Your obviously not a hockey fan and quite honestly no one wants people like you in the Brandt Centre.

Have fun watching MLS Soccer on TV.

Not using ownership as an excuse. Just not interested in driving the price up on the franchise even a millionth of a millionth of a cent by being there as a paid customer. Cant wait for the Parkers to sell.

"Anonymous peon" mentality stay away. The product Is on the Ice and produced by the assembled young men who are recruited to play, not ownership. Your obviously not someone who enjoys the Junior game of hockey for what It Is, "a game" with the associated ups and downs of the development of these young people.

Go Pats go !

Mr (or Ms) ""I will not step foot in that building as long as its owned by the Parkers. I hate everything to do with the Pats until they sell." Guess what, you're $20 isn't going to make a difference to the Parkers…the Pats don't need negative anti-fans such as yourself! And for someone that is SO adamant about NOT supporting the Pats (say its the owners, but it is the players you are not supporting)…you certainly spend a lot of effort talking about them. I guess the good thing about big mouth negative Neds like yourself is that you… Read more »
