CAPITALS 7 THUNDER 6

For the first time in 2015 a Extreme Hockey Regina Capitals game was decided in regulation time. Wednesday night action saw a high scoring affair dominated in the early going by the Ochapowace Thunder.

The Thunder rolled to a 5-2 first period lead with 2 goals and an assist from Brett Turgeon. Eric Duran powered the second period comeback for the Capitals with two goals and two assists as the visitors scored four unanswered goals.

Rookie Capital Braydon Delorme led the Capitals goal scorers with the hat trick which included two power play markers.

Capitals goalie Thomas Spence went the distance facing 40 shots while Cowan Swampy faced 35 shots for the Thunder before giving way to Benji Taypotat who faced 17 shots in relief.

This was the fourth meeting of the season for the two teams and the Capitals lead the season series 4-0. Extreme Hockey Regina Capitals next game action is Sunday in Saskatoon against the Westleys. Ochapowace return to the ice Thursday January 14 against Fort Knox.
