CAPS LEAD PJHL FINAL 1-0

Morgan Gallais scored two minutes into overtime to give the Regina Capitals a 5-4 victory over the Saskatoon Quakers in Game 1 of the PJHL championship series Thursday evening in Saskatoon.

Six of the nine goals scored came on the power play in the series lid-lifter.

Brayden Cockwill scored first for the Caps and Cody Hegion followed with a natural hat trick to put the game at a 4-4 tie and pushing it to overtime.

That set the stage for Gallais’ heroics in the extra session.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven series goes Saturday night at the Al Ritchie in an 8:15 pm faceoff.
