CARDINALS 8 RED SOX 3. ONTO THE PLAYOFFS

The Yorkton Cardinals clinched second place in the Eastern Division with an 8-3 victory over the Regina Red Sox on Thursday night,

375 fans were on hand at Jubilee Park in Yorkton as Cardinal third baseman Luke Wilkinson drove in four runs with his eighth home run of the year.
 
Yorkton starter Max Biedrzycki picked up the win. He recorded six strikeouts while giving up two runs on just three hits and two walks over seven innings.
 
Regina outfielder Brian Celsi, a product of Mountain View, California had two extra-base hits and an RBI in the contest.
 
Landon Russo started the game for the Red Sox. He was tagged with the loss after surrendering three runs on six hits.
 
With the win the Cardinals improved their season to 28-18. The Regina Red Sox record dropped to 26-20.
 
The Red Sox finish the regular season at home on Friday when Swift Current visits Currie Field. Game time is 8 pm.
 
The Cardinals and Red Sox will meet in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1 and 2 will be Sunday and Monday in Yorkton. Game 3 and 4 (if needed) will be played at Currie Field. Game 5 (if necessary) will be back in Yorkton.
