CARDINALS UPSET RED SOX 6-2
With over 1,000 fans at Currie Field, the Yorkton Cardinals defeated the second place Regina Red Sox 6-2.
Jared McDonald, a junior from Western Oregon University, led the Cardinals attack with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Adam De La Cruz, did his impression of the Bronx Bomber as he smacked his fifth home run of the year in the Regina’s half of the first inning.
Wryland McKnight, the Cards left-hander from Sutherlin, Oregon earned his first WMBL win going six innings while giving up two runs on six hits and five walks.
Red Sox starter Kyle Wilson pitched 6.1 innings in a losing cause.
