CFL SIM: CALGARY 25 HAMILTON 15

CALGARY – The virtual Calgary Stampeders completed a season series sweep of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with a 25-15 win at McMahon Stadium, closing Week 7 in the 2020 CFL SIM season.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, the Stampeders offense was electric under Bo Levi Mitchell who threw for 311 yards and touchdown passes to Hergy Mayala and Colton Hunchak. Kicker Boris Bede went 4/4 on field goals as the Stampeders improved to 5-2, giving them a share of the CFL SIM overall lead with five wins.

The shocking struggles for the virtual Ticats continued. The defending East Division champions dropped to 2-4 despite an heroic 113-yard outing by Brandon Banks. RB Sean Thomas-Erlington notched 79 yards on the ground which is the second-most in SIM play this summer. QB Jeremiah Masoli passed for 249 yards and one TD and many Ticats fans are calling for virtual back-up Dane Evans to start next week’s game.

Hamilton led 4-0 after the first quarter and 6-3 at halftime. However 22 second half points powered the Horsemen to the victory.
