CFL SIM: OTTAWA UPENDS SASKATCHEWAN 14-8 ON TNF

DUBOIS

OTTAWA – Marco Dubois scored on a 95-yard touchdown reception from Nick Arbuckle and the upstart RedBlacks upset the Saskatchewan Roughriders 14-8 to solidify their playoff hopes in Canada’s Game of the Week in CFL SIM action on Thursday.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, Arbuckle passed for 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception as the RedBlacks improved to 8-8. It’s been a remarkable turnaround following an 0-7 start.

The RedBlacks led 7-3 after the first quarter following a 2-yard touchdown run by John Crockett at the 12:55 mark. That series came after Sherrod Baltimore picked off Sask QB Cody Fajardo and returned it deep into Rider territory. The lead held up into the third quarter.

Dubois’ monster touchdown came at the 7:49 mark and gave Ottawa a 14-3 lead. Saskatchewan could only muster a pair of Brett Lauther field goals (34- and 50-yards) and a safety while losing the turnover battle 4-1.

Fajardo threw for 270 yards and was intercepted twice. His leading receiver was Jordan Williams-Lambert (10-74 yards) while William Powell racked up 68 yards on the ground.

The loss was Saskatchewan’s fifth in a row and dropped their record to 9-7, however they still hold a narrow lead for 2nd-place in the CFL SIM West Division.

Other Week 18 games feature Edmonton (7-7) at Winnipeg (6-8), Calgary (12-3) at BC (8-7) and Toronto (9-6) at Montreal (5-10). All games will be simulated at www.twitch.tv/nhacker49.
