CFL SIM: REDBLACKS TAKE LATEST BATTLE OF ONTARIO!

OTTAWA – Nick Arbuckle threw for a lofty 421 yards and two touchdowns as the Ottawa RedBlacks torched the Toronto Argonauts 26-13 in Week 16 of CFL SIM action on Saturday.

Here’s the recap from our V.P. of SIM Events Nelson Hackewich:

“Devonte Dedmon and Brad Sinopoli each had touchdowns of 80+ yards Saturday at TD Place Stadium. Both quarterbacks – Ottawa’s Nick Arbuckle and Toronto’s Matt Nichols – came out blazing. Arbuckle found Dedmon on the second series of the game for an 85-yard touchdown bomb.

RedBlacks kicker Lewis Ward notched two of his three field goals in the second quarter while his counterpart Boris Bede of the Argos redeemed himself after a 51-yard miss to notch field goals of 34 and 38 yards.

Arbuckle failed to get CFL SIM-leading receiving Brad Sinopoli involved in the first half but on the opening play of the third quarter, the former Stampeder pivot found Sinopoli for an 84-yard major. The kickers closed out the night and Ottawa moved to within four points of first-place in the CFL SIM East with a big 4-point win over their provincial rivals.”

Ottawa led 7-3 after the first quarter and 13-10 at the break. They carried a 21-13 lead into the fourth.

Toronto’s Matt Nichols threw for 371 yards but was picked off twice. The Argo defense was ferocious with three defenders coming up with interceptions: Shaquille Richardson, Crezdon Butler and Tommie Campbell. DT Drake Nevis notched Toronto’s lone sack.

Ottawa’s defense featured interceptions by Abdul Kanneh and Antoine Pruneau.

With the win the RedBlacks improved to 7-9 while the division-leading Argos fell to 9-5.

Week 16 in the CFL SIM season closes on Sunday with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6-7) visiting the Calgary Stampeders (11-3). The game will be simulated at www.twitch.tv/nhacker49.
