CFL SIM: STAMPEDERS ROUT LIONS 28-10
VANCOUVER – Rene Parades went 4/4 on field goals and Michael Klukas had two touchdown receptions as the Calgary Stampeders rolled over the BC Lions 28-10 in Week 18 CFL SIM action at BC Place.
In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, Calgary led 5-0 after the first quarter, 5-4 at halftime and 25-4 going into the fourth.
Parades got things going with a 42-yard field goal in the first quarter. Stamps QB Bo Levi Mitchell suffered a blow to the head in the first half and left the game for three plays to undergo concussion protocol.
The TSN Turning Point came with 1:20 to go in the first half. The Lions turned the ball over deep in Calgary territory rather than kicking a field goal which would’ve put them up 7-5 at the break. Mitchell returned to start the second half and that’s when Calgary went off with 20 points including the two Klukas TDs.
The Lions pressed late as Keon Lyn returned a BLM interception 53 yards to the house. The 2-point convert failed. Two possessions later, in the dying moments, the Lions drove the ball to the Calgary-5 but Nate Holley sacked Mike Reilly to end the game.
Bo Levi finished the game with 381 yards passing, two TDs and one interception. Mike Reilly threw for 232 yards and his leading receiver was Shaq Johnson with 67 yards.
Calgary improved to 15-3 with the win while BC fell to 8-8 with the loss.
