CFL SIM: TICATS TAKE MUST-WIN GAME

HAMILTON – In a must-win game, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats came out clawing on their home turf.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football Saturday afternoon, Dane Evans threw for 152 yards and Matthew White booted four field goals in a 13-1 victory over the Edmonton Football Club.

The Ticats needed a win to stay in contention for the CFL SIM’s Top 6 playoff format, entering the contest at 5-10 and trailing BC, Ottawa and Edmonton who all have eight victories.

At a sold-out virtual Tim Hortons Field, the game was scoreless after the first quarter and the Ticats led 7-1 at halftime. A 6-point fourth quarter salted the game away for the home team.

Devier Posey led all Ticats receivers with 45 yards followed by Brandon Banks with 43. RB Sean Thomas-Erlington had 32 yards rushing before leaving the game with injury.

For Edmonton, Trevor Harris passed for 185 yards and was intercepted once. Joshua Stangby was the leading receiver with 71 yards while Shaquille Cooper notched 31 yards rushing.

The win upped Hamilton’s record to 6-10 while Edmonton fell to 8-8.

The only other game in Week 19 features Toronto (9-7) at Winnipeg (6-9). The contest will be simulated at www.twitch.tv/nhacker49.
