CFL SIM WEEK 14 FINALE: STAMPS SWEEP AND ARGOS UPSET IN BC

BO-SIM

CALGARY 32 EDMONTON 14

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Football Club fell short of avenging their 35-8 loss to Calgary in the Labour Day Classic Battle of Alberta edition.

In a computer-generated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, Edmonton jumped out to a hot start courtesy of a Trevor Harris-to-Anthony Parker 31-yard touchdown strike, a 38-yard Sean Whyte field goal and 62-yard Hugh O’Neil 62-yard punt single.

However the tide turned in the second quarter when Calgary’s Bo Levi Mitchell found Colton Hunchak for a 20-yard score making it 11-7 Edmonton at the break. The momentum continued in the second half with a BLM 23-yard TD pass to Michael Klukas.

Three Rene Parades field goals in the fourth quarter – from 30, 46 and 19 yards – propelled the Stampeders to victory and a Battle of Alberta sweep.

TORONTO 22 BC 6

VANCOUVER – The CFL SIM East Division-leading Toronto Argonauts sailed to a 22-6 victory over the BC Lions Saturday night at BC Place. The team defenses ruled the roost with not one receiver cracking 100 yards on the night.

Toronto kicker Boris Bede was the game star, booting seven field goals on the night. BC’s Sergio Castillo was 2/2 on the night and a brilliant 71-yard rushing performance by Brandon Rutley was spoiled by the Lions’ inability to capitalize in the redzone.

Toronto led 6-0, 15-0 and 15-6 by quarter.
