CFL SIM: WEEK 9 CLOSES WITH ARGO UPSET!

CALGARY – Virtual Matt Nichols was dealing to close out Week 9 of the 2020 CFL SIM season.

In a computer-generated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, the Toronto quarterback connected with seven different receivers, throwing for 370 yards, as the Argonauts upset the Stampeders 25-3 in Calgary.

WR Llevi Noel paced the Argos with 131 receiving yards while RB Marcus Thigpen added 54 on the ground and caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Nichols. Calgary’s Bo Levi Mitchell struggled to get into a groove until midway through the fourth quarter, completing just over 50% of his passes for 238 yards.

The Stampeders’ bright spot was defender Nate Holley who picked off Nichols twice. On the Argos’ defensive side of the ball, CB Shaq Richardson intercepted Bo Levi twice to up his team-leading total to three.

Argo kicker Boris Bede was 6/7 on field goals with his lone miss coming from 51 yards.

Toronto led 6-0, 9-0 and 12-3 by quarter.
