The Canadian Football League Alumni Association (CFLAA) proudly announces that BC Lions alumni Cory Philpot and Jamie Taras have been named co-winners of the CFL 2024 Alumnus of the Year Award. Cory and Jamie were teammates on the 1994 BC Lions Grey Championship team.

The CFLAA will present this prestigious award to these two outstanding BC Lions alum members during the 2024 Grey Cup Festival at the popular CFL Alumni Association Legends Luncheon on Friday, November 15th, at the Vancouver Convention Centre, beginning at 11 a.m. Individual tickets and tables of 10 are now on sale at early bird pricing (Until September 17th, 2024) of $200 plus taxes and fees.

CFLAA President Bob Bronk congratulated both Cory Philpot and Jamie Taras for receiving the prestigious CFL 2024 Alumnus of the Year Award. “Each of these gentlemen deserves this honour and was selected by their peers. Through their post-career contributions to amateur football, the CFL, and local Alumni Associations, they have shown the importance of the leadership of former players in their community. They truly represent what the award stands for.”

During their playing careers with the Lions, Philpot and Taras shone on and off the field. Since their retirement, both have made significant contributions to the growth of Canadian Football, the CFL, and the BC football community.
